THRISSUR: Thrissur Cooperative Bank president and CPM leader M K Kannan has reached the ED office for questioning. Kannan, who is also the vice-chairman of Kerala Bank, is being questioned in connection with the black money transaction in the Karuvannur bank fraud case.
The ED has found that many of the benami transactions of Sathish Kumar, the main accused arrested in the case, were through the Thrissur Co-operative Bank. Sathish Kumar has made black money transactions worth crores through this bank. The documents of it were seized in the raid the other day. The ED summoned M K Kannan to seek details related to it. The ED also said the chairman of Ayyanthole Service Co-operative Bank should also be questioned in this regard. Once these two interrogations are completed, a decision will be taken on issuing notices to A C Moideen and others.
In addition to the main accused, the ED has informed that witnesses Anoop Davis Kada, who have already been questioned and councilor Aravindakshan, who has filed a complaint against the ED, will also be questioned. In the coming days these witnesses will also be given notice and questioned.
