THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance conducted a lightning inspection at Bevco outlets in the state. With the increasing number of complaints about overcharging, inspections were organized at 78 Bevco outlets across the state under the name Mission Moonlight.
The allegation is that liquor is sold at a higher price than the original price. Although there is a stock of low-priced liquor, the sale of high-priced brands is promoted. For this, Bevco officials take commission from agents of some liquor companies. The officials distribute the money by selling the undamaged liquor without paying the bill and showing it as damaged. There were complaints against many outlets. The vigilance's special operation was based on this.
