KOCHI: The Kerala High Court directed to execute the ban on decorated vehicles in Sabarimala during the mandala season. The court pointed that KSRTC buses should also not have any decorations that are against the norms and it is against the rules of the motor vehicle department.
The court also directed that action be taken against the pilgrim vehicles coming with the government’s board. Pilgrim vehicles are brought to Sabarimala after decorating it with flowers etc. The order of the court is to take action against this.
The court also directed that the violators of the law should be fined and the directions of the previous order should be strictly followed. Bringing decorated vehicles was criticized as a security threat.
Meantime, a high-level meeting to review matters related to this year's Sabarimala pilgrimage will be held at Thycaud Guest House at 3.30 pm today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Minister K Radhakrishnan and others will attend. Sabarimala Nada will be opened on November 17 for Mandala Mahotsavam. The meeting will assess the facilities to be prepared by various departments during the pilgrimage, modern facilities and preparations for the arrangement of the pilgrims.
