Dr B Anantha Krishnan appointed new vice chancellor Kerala Kalamandalam

THRISSUR: Dr B Anantha Krishnan has been appointed as the new vice chancellor of the Kerala Kalamandalam. Chancellor Mallika Sarabhai approved the recommendation of the search committee. M V Narayanan, who has been the VC of Kaladi University for one and a half years, had the additional charge of the VC of Kerala Kalamandalam. The tenure of the new vice chancellor is five years.

Mallika Sarabhai appointed Dr J Prasad, K G Paulose and member of the governing body T K Vasu as members of the search committee, two months ago. Dr B Anantha Krishnan was appointed as per their recommendation. He had worked as a professor for 19 years and was working as the head of theatre department of Central University of Hyderabad for the last one and a half years. He has long experience in the field of theatre. He had also served the University of Hyderabad as school dean, chief warden and proctor during 2012-15. He was an executive member of the Federation for Theatre Research and the founder general secretary of the Indian Society of Theatre Research. Many of Anantha Krishnan's articles have received international attention.
