KOCHI: Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan on Thursday disapproved of the smear campaign and hate ongoing against Karnataka amidst the rescue operation for a missing Malayali driver in Shirur. Satheesan while talking to the media shed light on the Kavalappara disaster of 2018 in Kerala.

V D SATHEESAN:

“Have we forgotten about the Kavalappara disaster? How many people disappeared in the disaster? Even the fire force took hours to reach the spot.

Take now the case with Karnataka. Karwar MLA has not yet moved from Shirur and is monitoring the operation. Even after 10 days of arduous work, the fire force failed to find the missing people of Kavalappara. So it is better to understand the reality before going for negative campaign and fake news against Karnataka.

Those slandering the Karnataka rescue team haven’t yet witnessed the reality of Shirur landslides and the danger they pose. We should be supporting the rescue team as we did for the workers of the Amayizhanjan canal. The hate campaign against Karnataka is despicable.”
