Keraleeyam as extravagant is a wrong propaganda, event will be organized as festival, says E P Jayarajan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF convenor EP Jayarajan said Keraleeyam programme will be organized as a festival. He was talking to the media about the Keralayam event to be organized in Thiruvananthapuram from November 1-7.

‘Keraleeyam as a government programme is making all the preparations to attract mass attention. There will be seminars on different topics, cultural programs etc. Now we are witnessing signs of Kerala turning into an attractive mass-focused festival, comparable to Kannur's Dussehra or even Mysore's Dussehra with its huge turnout.

Therefore, all kinds of efforts should be there to make this programme of the LDF government successful. All the constituent parties of the Left Front should come forward and work to make Kerala a place that the world will pay attention to. Not only them but all parties and all people are requested to come forward to be a part of this programme.

The second thing is the comprehensive development of Kerala. In order to understand and solve the problems of all the constituencies of Kerala, the chief minister and other ministers will interact with the people in various constituencies. MLAs, MPs, other people's representatives, political party leaders, dignitaries of different fields, prominent people in the field of arts and culture, will implement the constituency tour programme of the chief minister and other ministers to solve the problems of the people by involving all. All sections of the people should cooperate and make it a success. This is a new experience. It seems that everyone in Kerala wants to participate in this.

Requesting all to make both the programmes a grand success. Keraleeyam will be organized as a festival itself. Can everything be postponed in the name of financial issues? Can development be postponed. Can hospital matters be postponed. We have to do our own things. The government is doing it to execute it beautifully. There is no extravaganza in it.

The programme has not yet started here. Keraleeyam as extravagant is a wrong propaganda. Therefore, the government has to find many sponsors and with the help of the people and in a cost-effective way, the necessary things can be done neatly. The government has that view. There will be no prodigality of any kind. The left government is especially strict in all those matters.

This kind of propaganda before the start of the programme is only to weaken it. I don't think that's really an honest opinion,' said E P Jayarajan.

Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala had criticized the government's Keraleeyam programme. Chennithala had accused Kerala of being profligate and corrupt and such a programme when facing severe economic crisis is to deceive the people.
