THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: District Collectors have been assigned the role of overseeing the ongoing digital survey in the state to ensure its timely completion. The first phase of the Digital Resurvey has commenced in 200 villages with the second phase starting on October 20. The objective is to finish the survey within four years.
To monitor the progress of the work, Joint Directors, Assistant Directors, Survey Superintendents, Technical Assistants, Head Surveyors and Head Draftsmen have been instructed to provide monthly updates.
For every 50 households, there should be one representative to assist in the survey. Volunteers should be enlisted by collaborating with local government representatives, Tehsildars and Village Officers.
In the villages where the second phase has begun, Village Officers must be directed to update release data within one month and validate changes in possession documents. Charge officers should conduct lightning tests to ensure accuracy.
Camp offices in second-phase villages should be set up in available buildings with the cooperation of local bodies and district administration, free of charge. The hiring of contract staff should be expedited.
In villages where field surveys have been completed, Village Officers should certify that government land, as per village records, is fully included in the digital resurvey.
Efforts should be made to improve mobile network signal strength in areas with poor coverage.
A District Development Commissioner or Sub Collector should be appointed as the nodal officer for project-related activities.
