Mahila Congress leader’s husband pays Rs 70,000 to family of girl killed in Aluva, balance to be paid before Dec 20

KOCHI: Mahila Congress leader’s husband Muneer returned the money borrowed from the father of the girl raped and killed in Aluva. He took Rs 1,20,000 from the girl’s father in several installments saying that he would keep the money safely.

Muneer returned Rs 70,000. The girl’s father said Muneer had signed and given that the balance amount of Rs 50,000 will be given before December 20. It is hinted that he paid the money after the incident stoked a controversy.

Muneer, who can speak Hindi fluently, maintained a relationship with the girl's family as a language assistant. He accepted the money from her father in between August 5-10. He returned Rs 70,000 and though asked for the balance amount, he did not give it. Finally, he signed and gave during the conciliatory talks held in the presence of two other people.
