MALAPPURAM: The Education Department has directed to send at least 200 students per school to Navakerala Sadas. The instruction regarding this came in the meeting of head teachers convened by Tirurangadi DEO.

There are also reports that there is a proposal to give holidays to schools. It was suggested in the meeting that two hundred children should be sent from Tanur constituency and at least one hundred each from Tirurangadi and Vengara constituencies.

It is reported that the head teachers have expressed their dissatisfaction regarding the same. When they informed that there were difficulties in using school buses to transport students, the instruction was to give holidays to schools if necessary. The orders related to this have not been released.

Meanwhile, Muslim League leader Kunhalikutty responded that it is not right to force children to participate in the program.
