ATHENS: One person died and 12 went missing on Sunday after the cargo ship 'The Raptor' with 14 crew members, including four Indians, sank in the Aegean Sea near the Greek island of Lesbos. One person was saved. The ship was en route to Istanbul in Turkey with 6,000 tons of salt from Egypt.
The accident occurred at 7 am on Sunday, 8.3 kilometers from the coast of Lesbos, in the southwest region amid strong winds and waves. The crew consists of Egyptians and two Syrians. The survivor is an Egyptian national. The search continues under the command of the Greek Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. The ship was managed by a company based in Lebanon.
