CUSAT tragedy; 17 people under treatment, 2 people critical

KOCHI: At CUSAT Tech Fest, a stampede occurred leaving two people in critical condition. Both were transferred from Kalamaseri Medical College to Aster Medicity. Sheba, from Malappuram and Geetanjali, from Alappuzha are on ventilators and in critical condition. Additionally, three others are in the ICU namely Devika PM (21), Gauri Nanda (19) and Gauri KA (20) at Kalamasery Medical College.

Currently, 17 people including those in critical condition are receiving treatment. At Kalamasery Medical College, others undergoing treatment include Hasna (21), Mohammad Razeel (20), Lakshmi Devdas (20), Ashwani (21), Abhinav (23), Vipanchika (18), Vismaya (21), Vishnu Das (20), Gauri Shankar (20), and Haseen Sidd (18). Two patients are receiving treatment at Kalamasery Kim's Hospital.

Yesterday, 24 people from the medical college and one from Kakkanad Sunrise Hospital were discharged after treatment.

A post-mortem report revealed that all four deceased individuals died due to suffocation. The report indicated lung injuries, causing difficulty in breathing. Furthermore, the victims sustained injuries to the neck and chest.
