KOLLAM: She was sitting alone, seemed a bit exhausted....A group of final year B.Com students from SN College, Kollam - Dhananjaya, Divya, Jinsha and A Shalom, an economics student from Fathima Matha College, spotted Abigail at Ashramam ground. The child appeared exhausted when found. Upon inquiry by the students, she said her name was Sarah.

Concerned for the child's well-being, the students immediately alerted the police and provided biscuits and water to alleviate her fatigue. The students were returning from college after internal exams and on the way to a friend's house to buy notes.

Before the arrival of the East Police and Control Room Police, a woman garbed in a yellow churidar and a white shawl-covered mask was seen departing from the area where Abigail was found. The East Police gathered statements from the students to further their investigation.

Following a thorough internal examination, the child was taken into police custody for her safety. The sequence of events leading to her separation from the woman in the yellow churidar remains under investigation.
