THIRUVANANTHPURAM: The health department and the police have started an investigation into the false propaganda that people between 40 and 60 who have received the COVID-19 vaccine should do a D-dimer test in the event of an increase in heart attacks.
Such a message was widely circulated on social media yesterday in the name of a notice published by the authorities in Nedumangad taluk hospital. After noticing this, Director of Health Department Dr Reena KJ sought a report from the Superintendent of Nedumangad Hospital. But after the inspection, the superintendent informed that no such notification had been posted in the hospital. The hospital authorities then filed a complaint with the police. The false propaganda is that the blood vessels of the vaccinated become rough and cause blood clots. Last week, the ICMR stated that the vaccine does not cause blood clots or death.
