KOLLAM: The investigation team found that the accused were using WhatsApp calls and messages to communicate in the Oyoor child abduction case. If the accused had used their phones normally, the investigation team would have been able to reach them faster. However, since it was WhatsApp calls, the details were not available in the investigation of the cyber wing of the police. After kidnapping the child, the gang had contacted the mother from another phone demanding money.

Cartoons were shown to the child on the laptop at night. Information related to this was obtained from the statement of the child. The investigation team went to the sites related to the cartoon that the girl watched. This also became an evidence in the case.
