Massive money collection through UPI ID for Lord Ayyappan; Travancore Devaswom Board issues statement against organization

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Travancore Devaswom Board's move against an organization for illegally collecting money from devotees. The board issued a statement against Akhila Bhartheya Ayyappadharmma Pracharsabha. In a press release, the Devaswom Board stated that they had received a complaint that the organization was collecting money from the people in the name of Ayyappan and that neither the board nor Sabarimala had anything to do with this organization.

The money is being collected through the UPI ID: abap@indianbank. Akhila Bhartheya Ayyappadharmma Pracharsabha has also posted on social media accounts including Facebook mentioning the information. The account is in the name of the National Council. Only the Board has the right to collect funds from devotees in the name of any god or goddess. This is according to the section of the Travancore Hindu Religious Institutions Act and the High Court judgment dated 15th July 2023.
