Visuals of masked man and abandoned weapon; locals in panic

IDUKKI: CCTV has captured the visuals of a thief who stole money from around 10 establishments after breaking open the main doors of the establishments. All the theft took place this morning. The series of thefts took place at Labbakada near Kanchiyar in Kattappana.

The video of the thief, who wore a mask, has been obtained from the nearby CCTV. Kattapana police reached the spot and conducted an investigation. Fingerprint experts and the dog squad also collected the evidence from the spot.

The robbery took place in the Village Office, Mini Super Market, Akshaya Centre, Oil Trading establishment, Janasevana Kendra and a Pet Shop operating in Labbakada Town. The weapon used by the thief to break open the establishments was also found nearby.

The fact that the thief stole money from so many establishments in a single day has worried the local residents. Locals expressed suspicion that the thief would be well-informed about this area. Police investigation into the incident is in progress.

Over 10,000 rupees kept in Akshaya Centre were lost. Money and documents have also been lost from other institutions.
