Beware of messages from Aarti Sharma, Muktha; Kochi native arrested by central agencies

KOCHI: The Central intelligence agencies are on a run to nab all those Indians who fell for the honey trap weaved by Pakistani spy accounts. About 10 people were arrested this year. According to reports, Pakistan is dead set on employing whatever deceptive tactic to extract India’s defence secrets and major security issues. The last trick to emerge from the Pak spy unit has so far seen success with many Indians falling for it.

The most recent incident was the arrest of Malappuram native Sreenish Pookode on the 20th of this month for leaking pictures of INS Vikrant from Kochi Shipyard. He was a temporary employee of the shipyard. Sreenish forwarded the information to a social media account named 'Angel Payal'. In another case, a temporary employee of Mumbai Dockyard who forwarded the information to Payal Angel was arrested on the 13th of this month. More than 10 cases have been registered across different states in the country.

The central agencies are keeping a scrutinizing eye on defence-related social media accounts and are also vigilant about people intruding on the accounts of defence officials. Payal Angel, Aarti Sharma, Mukta Mahato, Athi Tiwari, Harleena Kaur, Preeti, Poonam Bajwa and Sunita are the popular fake accounts that are luring officials working in defence fields.

Earlier, The Director of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was caught after falling for the female trap. Crucial details of the Indian ingenious missile were leaked. He was arrested on May 3 this year.

About 10 people have been arrested this year for BSF information leakage, military information leakage, espionage payment, and leaking information related to Arunachal Pradesh.
