THRISSUR: A clash broke out between the activists of the youth congress and the BJP in the district. The clash was witnessed near the venue where Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived. Youth Congress activists tried to sprinkle cow dung water on the stage. The BJP activists stopped the protestors and immediately a clash broke out between the two activists.
The police intervened when a ruckus was witnessed. The BJP activists alleged that the police made facilities for the Youth Congress to sprinkle the dung water.
'The Kerala Police is not ready to arrest the attackers. We have not gone anywhere to attack any place. The police are providing facilities to the attackers. Why are the perpetrators not arrested? The police are making arrangements to sprinkle cow dung water on the Prime Minister's venue,’ said the BJP workers.
Modi had yesterday arrived at Thekkinkadu grounds to attend the Mahila Sangamam. The youth congress activists tried to sprinkle cow dung water on the stage here.
Modi had said that BJP should come to power for the development of Kerala. He reiterated Modi's guarantee for development (Modi guarantee) even as the left and right fronts in the state and the 'India' front at the national level stood in the way. Meantime, the Youth Congress had announced a protest regarding the felling of trees in connection with the event.
