KOZHIKODE: The police are stuck in the dark after Cherur Thaiparamba Muhammadali confessed to two murder cases. The police do not even have the old FIR in the case, which is said to have taken place in Koodaranji and Kozhikode Vellayil. The police say that it will be difficult to find the old case diary even if an accused comes and confesses after 39 years.
Although the person killed in Koodaranji is said to be a native of Iritty or a native of Palakkad, it is not known who was killed in Vellayil, Kozhikode. Although the commissioner has formed a special team in this case, the police are scrambling to find information. The only thing the police know is Muhammadali's revelation. There is information that a person was killed on the beach in 1989, but the person is unknown in the police report. Assistant Commissioner T.K. Ashraf, who is in charge of the Vellayil case, said that only by finding out who this person is, can the police give at least a small clue in the investigation regarding this.
Efforts are being made to find the police officers and revenue officials of that time and collect information. Muhammadali revealed to the Vengara police that he had committed a murder in Koodaranji when he was 17 years old. After that, he also confessed to killing another person on the beach in Vellayil while working in Kozhikode city. The police are confused by the question of who the deceased were.
The Nadakkavu police will contact the RDO office to collect more inquest details of the deceased in the case registered. In the Thiruvambady case, the Thiruvambady police investigation team will travel to Ernakulam in search of the then Thiruvambady police inspector O.P. Thomas. The Thiruvambady police have applied to get the forensic examination report of the time. The reply is expected to be received after a week. The police have not yet registered a new FIR in the Nadakkavu case.
