THRISSUR: TN Prathapan MP has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contest in Thrissur in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He also lashed out at the BJP that it cannot wash away its sin in Manipur by dedicating a golden crown. Prathapan was responding to Suresh Gopi's action of dedicating a golden crown to the Our Lady of Lourdes Metropolitan Cathedral in Thrissur.

"Our biggest wish is that the Prime Minister of India should contest against the UDF in Thrissur. Even if the Prime Minister comes to contest, we are ready. Going to shrines and making offerings are personal matters. We are very sad that while the Prime Minister of India is visiting Thrissur for the second time in two weeks, he did not visit Manipur even once. The sad feelings of the believers in Manipur where the holy image of the Mother Mary was destroyed are still in the hearts of believers like me. It is also in the hearts of the believers of Thrissur," Prathapan said.

"Believers still remember how priests and nuns were insulted in Manipur. However, the Prime Minister did not go there to comfort them. The BJP and the Prime Minister cannot wash away the stain of sins committed in Manipur by dedicating a golden crown or making an offering," he said.
