BENGALURU: The Indian batting lineup crumbled like a pack of cards in the last match of the India-Afghanistan T20 series in Bengaluru on Wednesday. As of now, India has lost four top-order batsmen after the game reached five overs.
Sanju Samson, who was included in the playing eleven for the first time in the series, was dismissed on the very first ball. Batting exemplary Kohli also walked back to the pavilion scoring no runs. This is the first time that Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck in T20 history. Farid Ahmed, a left-arm pace bowler, took three of the four wickets. Apart from Kohli and Sanju, Farid dismissed opener Yashaswi Jaiswal (4) while Shivam Dubey was dismissed by Azmatullah Omarzai.
After winning the toss and electing to bat at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium, the Indians faltered at everything they touched. Meanwhile, India is leading the three-match series 2-0. If Afghanistan manages to win the series, it will be history and a matter of pride for the war-torn nation to cherish for a long time.
Apart from Sanju, Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Yadav have also found a place in the team. Jitesh Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel have been left out. India finally scored 74 runs for the loss of four wickets in 11 overs.
