ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan court has sentenced former prime minister Imran Khan and former Pakistan's foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to jail for 10 years each in a case involving the leaking of state secrets. The verdict was announced by special court judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain. It must be noted that the country is about to go to the elections on February 8.
The spokesperson of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said that both Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice-president Shah Mahmood have been sentenced to ten years in jail in connection with the Cipher case. The court issued the verdict after it was found that the two had violated the country's Official Secrets Act while in office. It was found that Imran had shared the confidential document sent by Pakistan's ambassador in Washington to the government.
Imran Khan can file an appeal against the verdict in the High Court. The PTI said that the case was fabricated and that the party would take legal action against it.
Pakistan stands with Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who defended Pakistan and stood for Haqeeqi Azadi.

No such sham trial can change what happened in March- April 2022, on the orders of Donald Lu.
A complete mockery and disregard of law in the cipher case shall not lead… https://t.co/y3lmuEIN85
