NEW DELHI: As per a report by Transparency International, India has been ranked 93 in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2023. The list of 180 countries is indicative of corruption in the public sector based on information from experts and businessmen. On a scale of zero to 100, zero indicates severe corruption and 100 indicates no corruption. In 2022, India's rank was 85. Maldives, Kazakhstan and Lesotho are also at the 93rd position along with India.

Denmark tops the list by scoring 90 out of 100. Finland is second with a score of 87. New Zealand is in third place. New Zealand has a score of 85. Norway is fourth with a score of 84, Singapore is fifth with a score of 83, and Sweden and Switzerland are sixth with a score of 82.
