'Tried covering navel but saree slipped'; Viral actress Chaithra Praveen answers her critics

Actress Chaithra Praveen is now a well-known name among youths and cinema buffs, not just for her acting marvel, but mainly for the attire she chose to wear in a promotional event for her latest movie LLB: Life Line of Bachelors.

Chaithra's sensuous look in a black saree with a skin-coloured blouse received big praise but also brickbats from many on the internet. And now, the actress came forward with a response to the criticism.

“I never had intentions to go viral. For clarification, it was my mother’s saree. My mother complimented me on the black colour and said it suited me well. But when it came to dancing, I was aware of the danger of the saree slipping thus revealing the navel. I couldn’t do anything, and I tried my maximum to cover it properly. I love saree the most, and it brings out the feminine beauty at its best. I got hurt when someone said I brought infamy to Kozhikode, the place I love the most.

Some people get pure joy seeing glimpses of saree slips and body reveals. Nobody can do anything on it” Chaithra said.

Sreenath Bhasi, Aswath Lal and Visakh Nair are the heroes in the LLB movie directed by debutant MM Siddique. Chaitra Praveen plays the lead role of Salma in the film.
