Three including mother and daughter drown in Kozhikode river

KOZHIKODE: Three people including a mother and daughter, drowned while bathing in the river at Pulikkamannukadav in Pilassery, Chathamangalam Panchayat, Kozhikode. The victims are identified as Adwaith (13), Mini (48) and her daughter Athira (24).

The incident occurred when Adwaith, who was bathing fell into the river. In an attempt to rescue him, Mini, Athira and Adwaith's mother Shinuja jumped in after him. All four were swept away by the strong currents.

Locals managed to rescue Shiju's wife, Shinuja. Shinuja has been rushed to Medical College Hospital for treatment.
