TP case verdict: UDF to support decision of Rema and RMP, says V D Satheesan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan welcomed the Kerala High Court’s verdict upholding the sentence of the accused in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case. He said the verdict strengthens the people's faith in the judicial system. He added that the high court verdict underlines the conspiracy and role of CPM in the brutal killing of TP.

"By killing TP, it has been revealed that the CPM is a mafia group that does not hesitate to do anything to eliminate its opponents. It is a challenge to the rule of law that CPM top leaders, chief minister and ministers are abusing the government machinery to protect and justify the killers.’

The government should at least stop providing prison facilities for murderers and granting parole frequently in the event that the punishment is upheld by the high court. The UDF will support the decision of K K Rema and RMP to file an appeal against the acquittal of CPM and other top leaders,' added Satheesan.
