Sigh of relief: Missing toddler found from drain pit near Kochuveli railway station

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mary, the two-year-old toddler who went missing on Sunday night was finally found near the Kochuveli railway station area early Monday night. The girl was found in a drain pit on the railway station premises. The police had to labour for 20 long hours to locate the missing toddler.

Mary, the daughter of Amardeep and Rabina Devi, both natives of LP Nagar, Hyderabad, went missing during the midnight hours of last night. The family lived near the abandoned area in between the All Saints College and Brahmos Center. Police had earlier reached this spot and took the child's clothes as evidence material.

Amidst the search, the police also received a witness record saying he saw the girl going along with a youngster and another old man in a scooter. Five groups were formed by police to forage every nook and corner of Thiruvananthapuram city. The migrant family of the child usually engaged in roadside business and they arrived in the city only during the last days of January.

Meanwhile, police admitted to receiving the details of the culprit involved in the kidnapping. An arrest will be made soon, said the officials. The child has been rushed to Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital for a medical examination. It is reported that the doctors have stated her health condition to be perfect and they expressed no concern. Minister V Sivankutty has also reached the hospital to monitor the proceedings.
