Rahul Gandhi's 'favourite disciple' may contest from Alappuzha

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A neon sticker with the writing ‘Sree Narayana Gurudev is the prosperity of this house’ catches the sight of guests entering the house of the former freedom fighter. The erstwhile generation in this house revered Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose while Anil Bose, the youngest of the clan is a hardcore supporter of Rahul Gandhi. Anil Bose, a native of Alappuzha, has captured the attention of the national media as a complete participant in Rahul Gandhi's 150-day padayatra, covering a distance of 4080 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Anil Bose is the National General Secretary of the Unorganized Workers Congress and KPCC Spokesperson. AICC general secretary KC Venugopal has only a feeble chance to contest in the upcoming LS poll, so luck may favour Anil, who is Rahul's favourite disciple.

Anil Bose, a native of Kavalam Cherukara embarked on his political journey by being part of long dharnas and protests right from his childhood days. When he was in the fifth grade, the party suggested that he participate in the Kerala March led by Ramesh Chennithala for one day from Changanassery to Alappuzha. However, Anil continued on the journey till it reached Thiruvananthapuram.

And now, Anil is back again in Kerala to participate in the Congress Samaragni protest after treading with Rahul Gandhi in the second Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra for all this long.

Anil’s grandfather was Pattom Narayananan who served in Subash Chandra Bose’s INA and was also a freedom fighter. Anil, a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, has received the Mother Teresa Gold Medal for Outstanding Social Work.
