Conductor slaps girl for refusing to vacate seat, arrested 

MALAPPURAM: A conductor was arrested for attacking a female student in Edappal. The Changaramkulam police arrested Shuhaib (26) of Mangavu, conductor of the bus ‘Happy Days’ operating service on Kozhikode-Thrissur route. The incident happened the other day.

The conductor slapped a third-year journalist student of a college in Perumbilavu and resident of Kudallur Manniyam. The complaint filed stated that the conductor stamped her on her leg and slapped her. The girl, who boarded the bus proceeding to Perumbalam from Edappal sat on a vacant seat. The conductor who came near her asked her to get up. A verbal dispute broke out when she refused to vacate the seat. In the meanwhile, he attacked her. She immediately informed her teachers and family and then sought treatment at a hospital in Kunnamkulam.
