Padmaja may campaign for Suresh Gopi even if her brother is opposing candidate; BJP to give grand reception in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Padmaja Venugopal, who joined the BJP yesterday, will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram today. The BJP will give her a grand reception at the Thiruvananthapuram airport. Following this, she will hold a press conference at the BJP state committee office. BJP state president K Surendran, Union Ministers V Muraleedharan and Rajeev Chandrasekhar are also expected to participate in the press conference.

The BJP leadership believes that the party will benefit from the arrival of Padmaja. Some reports are claiming that Padmaja will campaign for Suresh Gopi in Thrissur. Meanwhile, it is reported that Padmaja's brother K Muraleedharan has been named the UDF candidate in Thrissur.

Padmaja received BJP membership yesterday at 6:30 pm at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. She had responded that she had not been happy within the Congress party for several years and had been unsatisfied since the last assembly elections. She also said that the high command didn’t even care to consider her complaints despite repeated pleading. Padmaja also revealed about being denied permission to meet Sonia Gandhi.
