THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress state president Rahul Mamkootathil requested CPM to not indulge in any devious means to destroy evidence related to Siddharthan's death. Rahul also took a shot at CPM for perennially supporting SFI regardless of the crime committed but asked the party to not do the same this time. He was speaking after ending the hunger strike in Thiruvananthapuram.

“Aren’t there any parents inside the party? We are not impressed with Pinarayi Vijayan’s performance as a home minister. But I have respect for him for being a good father. As the father of Veena and Vivek, he is a man who keeps his children together by adopting any devious means. He should read the anti-ragging report about Siddharathan’s death from a father’s viewpoint.

The onus is not just on Pinarayi, the Chief Minister but also on the father figure he is. He should ensure that Kerala will never witness another Siddharthan. This is my humble request to Vivek and Veena’s father. I bow my hands before you to look up into the issue from a father's viewpoint.” Rahul said.

Rahul Mamkootathil, Mahila Congress state president JB Mather MP and KSU state president Aloysius Xavier were on a hunger strike demanding a CBI probe into the death of Siddharthan, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Pookode University.
