Youth who was summoned for questioning at police station collapses to death; family raises allegation against police

MALAPPURAM: A youth, who was summoned by the Pandikkad police for questioning, has collapsed to death. The deceased has been identified as Panthalloor Kadambode native Moideenkutty (36). The incident took place this morning.

Moideenkutty's family has alleged that the police manhandled him during questioning. However, the police have denied this. It is reported that Moideenkutty was a heart patient.

The police had summoned Moideenkutty to the station as part of the investigation into the clashes at Panthalloor during a temple festival. Moideenkutty, who collapsed at the police station, was rushed to a private hospital. He died this morning while undergoing treatment.
