OTTAWA: Three members of an Indian-origin family have reportedly died in a ghastly fire accident in Canada's Ontario province. The deceased have been identified as Rajeev Warikoo (51), his wife Shilpa Kota (47) and their daughter Mahek Warikoo (16). The police termed the death as ‘suspicious’ which they doubted not to be a result of an accident.

The house owned by the family was completely burned down in the fire accident that took place on March 7th. Later, the remains of the body were found during the inspection conducted by the police. Albeit this, the police couldn’t ascertain about the total death toll in the accident. It was after a detailed search that the police identified the victims of the incident.

Yusuf, a neighbour of Warikoo family was shocked by the findings. He said that the family has been living here for 15 years but never once showed signs of discord. Yusuf added that when he came out after hearing a big explosion, the house was on fire and within a few hours the house collapsed. The police have registered a case and started an investigation. The officials have also requested people with any knowledge about the mystery to assist in the investigation.
