Woman found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kuttyadi; Live-in partner arrested

KUTTYADI: The man who lived with the woman was arrested in connection with the incident where the woman was found dead near the Valookk River in Vilangad. Vasu (Elumban-57) of Vilangad Aduppil Colony was arrested by the Kuttyadi police. Evidence was collected by bringing him to the scene. The Nadapuram First Class Magistrate Court remanded the accused.

Yesterday evening, a young woman named Soniya was found dead under mysterious circumstances. Due to a foul odor, locals found the body on Friday night. The police stated that the two had gone fishing in the Valur river on Thursday evening, became drunk, engaged in an altercation and Vasu pushed Soniya into the river. Bruises were evident on the body.

Soniya, a resident of Niravilpuzha Arimala Colony, Wayanad, had been residing in Wayanad following the death of her husband Mohan. Following a post-mortem examination at Kozhikode Medical College, the body was cremated at Arimala Colony.
