NEW DELHI: The number of people buying food online is increasing day by day. The speciality is that you can eat hotel food at home, away from the hustle and bustle of the outdoors. However, food hygiene is a major concern for people who order such food. Food delivery chain Zomato has now found a solution to this problem.

The company has announced a new project called Pure Veg Mode. The new decision addresses the concerns of vegetarians. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal said that the company has decided to set up a separate delivery unit for vegetarians.

As part of the scheme, those employed to distribute vegetarian food will be given green delivery boxes instead of the usual red boxes. Not only will they not serve non-veg food, they will not accept any order from hotels that serve non-veg food. Zomato has also informed that the employees who distribute food in green delivery boxes will not even enter non-veg hotels during duty.

"India has the largest percentage of vegetarians in the world, and one of the most important feedback we’ve gotten from them is that they are very particular about how their food is cooked, and how their food is handled. To solve for their dietary preferences, we are today, launching a “Pure Veg Mode" along with a “Pure Veg Fleet” on Zomato, for customers who have a 100% vegetarian dietary preference.'
