Wife saves husband from jaws of crocodile, wins hearts

CAPE TOWN: A woman miraculously rescued her husband from the jaws of a crocodile. The incident happened at Cape Town in South Africa. Anthony Joubert (37) had a narrow escape from the crocodile attack. The 13-foot-long crocodile swallowed Anthony while he was fishing with his son.

The unexpected tragedy happened when he was vacationing with his wife Annalise and son. When Anthony’s son aged 12 was fishing at a dam in South Africa and was reeling in a catch when his line got caught in a tree leaving the bass he had hooked dangling from a branch in an inch of water. Anthony told his son to stay on the bank and walked a foot out into the lake to untangle the fish. At that time, a crocodile lying in ambush knocked him flat.

Seeing this, Annalise immediately took a huge log lying nearby and started smashing the crocodile on its head. After five or six huge smashes, the crocodile’s jaws opened. At this time, Anthony's boss Johan van der Colff, who arrived at the dam with his family, came to their rescue. He pulled Anthony from the crocodile's mouth. In the meanwhile, the crocodile hid in the lake.

Anthony was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and was subjected for an emergency treatment. Three crocodile teeth were pulled out from Anthony's stomach. He has many deep wounds all over his body. The family has presently started a page on Facebook seeking help for Anthony's treatment.
