Malayali student wins in JNU elections

NEW DELHI: A Malayali student has won in the elections conducted in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) after a gap of four years. Gopika Babu, an SFI candidate and a native of Irinjalakuda, Thrissur, has won the councillor's post. Gopika is the only Malayali who contested in the election.

Gopika had contested for the post of School of Social Science councillor. She is a second-year Master in Sociology student. Although Gopika was born in Thrissur, she was brought up in Bahrain. Father - K.G. Babu. Mother - Juma Babu. Twin sister - Devika Babu.
