Five-year-old girl dies in stampede during festival at Kottankulangara in Kollam

KOLLAM: A five-year-old girl met with a tragic end during the Chamayavilakku festival at the famous Kottankulangara temple in Chavara. The five-year-old girl identified as Kshetra died in the stampede. The child was trapped in the stampede while pulling a carriage horse amidst the Chamayavillakku at 12 last night. Kshetra is the daughter of Ramesan of Chavara Vadakkumbhagam Parasseri Thekkathil House and Jigi.

Kshetra came to Kottankulangara with her family members. The child was holding her father's hand. Meanwhile, the carriage horse lost control in the stampede. The accident happened when the carriage ran over her. She was rushed to the hospital but her life could not be saved.
