Hashim offered Anuja a car ride, shocking late-night accident: Mystery looms over Adoor incident

PATHANAMTHITTA: Police on Friday morning felt something out of place in the accident that took place in Adoor Pattazhimukku last night at 11:30 pm, which took away two lives. The deceased have been identified as Anuja (36), a native of Nooranad, a teacher at Thumpamon GHSS, and Charumoodu native Hashim (35).

According to police, Hashim blocked the school vehicle and forcefully took Anuja with him in his car. Anuja was returning from a school excursion along with other faculties. Late into the night, the car which they travelled collided with a container, killing them both on the spot. Police now doubt that the accident as a planned one.

The teachers who were along with Anuja found nothing suspicious or unusual in the way Hashim picked Anuja from the school bus. However, Anuja had earlier informed other faculties that she would suicide at the earliest. The police have decided to conduct a detailed investigation after examining the CCTV footage of the incident. The car was completely destroyed in the accident. The police also found liquor bottles in the car. Both Anuja and Hashim were pulled out by cutting the car to pieces with the help of the fire brigade and locals.
