Student from Odisha found dead at Kasargod Central University

KASARGOD: A student of the Central University of Kerala in Kasargod has been found dead. Ruby Patel (27), a native of Odisha, was found hanging inside the bathroom at the Nila Hostel.

The body was found hanging this morning. Ruby is a research scholar in the Department of Hindi-Comparative Literature at the university. SFI has launched a strike following the death of Ruby.

The SFI has organised the strike demanding to fill the vacancy in counseling psychology at the university and to provide services to the students. The students locked up the Vice Chancellor in the office room. NSU has also announced that it will go on an indefinite hunger strike.

In February, an M.Ed student from Uttar Pradesh had committed suicide in the hostel room at the University.
