"Will always be at forefront to solve problems of people...": Rahul Gandhi files nomination papers

KALPETTA: Wayanad's UDF candidate Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday submitted his nomination papers before district collector Renu Raj. His sister Priyanka Gandhi and Congress leaders including KC Venugopal accompanied him.

Rahul Gandhi arrived at Ripon estate grounds in Thalakkal by helicopter at 10 am and left for Kalpetta. A roadshow was held on his route to the Collectorate, where he submitted the nomination papers.

Rahul Gandhi said that he will always be at the forefront to solve the problems of the people of the constituency and considers it a great honour to be the MP of Wayanad.

Rahul Gandhi won the 2019 election by securing more than 4 lakh votes. Congress is hoping to repeat that victory this time too. Rahul Gandhi is coming to Wayanad for the first time after announcing his candidacy.

Meanwhile, LDF candidate Annie Raja also filed nomination papers. She was accompanied by leaders including CK Saseendran. Like Rahul Gandhi, Annie Raja also came to the Collectorate following a roadshow.

Meanwhile, Krishnakumar, the NDA candidate in Kollam, also submitted his nomination papers. He came with his wife Sindu Krishna and daughter Diya.
