Arunachal Pradesh Police does not rule out possibility of black magic; special team to investigate case

deaths

NEW DELHI: The Arunachal Pradesh Police did not rule out the possibility of black magic on the mysterious death of a Malayali couple and their teacher friend. SP Kenny Bagra said that they will proceed in cooperation with the Kerala Police and a special team of five members has been appointed to investigate the case.

While talking to the press, he said that the suspicion of witchcraft is also being investigated. The three stayed in the hotel as if they were members of a family. Naveen's documents were given as proof to get the room. The police said they told the hotel staff that they would provide the documents of the other two later.

‘The three who reached here on March 28 were out for three days. There was no information about them from April 1. It is suspected that Naveen slit his wrist after inflicting wounds on the body of others. Will investigate why they came to Ziro Valley. The propaganda that such incidents are happening only in Ziro is not true,' said the SP.

Arya B Nair (29) of Vattyoorkavu, Naveen Thomas (39) of Kottayam and his wife Devi (39) of Vattiyoorkavu, both ayurvedic doctors, were found dead in their hotel room in Itanagar yesterday.

All three went to Arunachal on March 27. They took a room in a hotel in Ziro, 100 kms away from Itanagar. They had food from the restaurant in the last few days and as they were not seen yesterday even after 10 am, the hotel staff went in search of them. They saw Arya lying on the bed and Devi was lying on the ground with wrists slit. Naveen's body was found in the washroom.
