Unaccounted money caught in Alappuzha; caught by special team

ALAPPUZHA: Money without accurate accounts seized. The static surveillance team of Ambalapuzha assembly constituency, working as part of the Lok Sabha elections, seized Rs 12 lakh during an inspection at Kalarcode.

The amount was forwarded to the Income Tax Nodal Officer for further action. 81 static surveillance teams are working in 27 inspection centres in the Alappuzha district. The task of the special team is to detect financial transactions that influence elections, conduct inspections including vehicle inspections if necessary, and prevent violations of the law, including drug and alcohol trafficking.
54 flying squads are functioning in nine assembly constituencies of Alappuzha in addition to this.
