Husband refused to provide financial assistance to boyfriend; Woman attempts for suicide, video

LUKNOW: Yesterday in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, a 34-year-old woman threatened to commit suicide by climbing an electric post. This tragic event has garnered widespread attention after videos and pictures of the incident surfaced on social media. The woman is mother of three children. She had been engaged in a secret relationship for seven years with a man from a neighbouring village.

The situation escalated when her husband, Ram Govind, found the affair. An argument ensued between the couple during which the woman pleaded with her husband to allow her boyfriend to stay at home and provide financial support to him. Ram Govind refused, leading to a decision to leave the house.

The woman resorted to threatening suicide by climbing the electric post. Authorities were alerted by residents, prompting a swift response from the police. As a precautionary measure, the power supply to the area was immediately cut off. After engaging in dialogue with the woman, authorities managed to bring her down from the electric post.
