Elderly man dies following scuffle with neighbour over pathway

IDUKKI: An elderly man who had a fight with a neighbour woman over a pathway has died. A woman named Devaki has been taken into police custody following the death of Surendran, a 77-year-old resident of Idukki's Mullaringad.

Surendran and Devaki, who had a verbal argument over the pathway problem, got into a scuffle. Meanwhile, Surendran collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. The police say that they are investigating the incident and will clarify the matter only after getting the post-mortem report.

Meanwhile, a man who came to the Meenabharani Festival in Kodungallur fell and died while sleeping on top of the bus. The deceased has been identified as Manish Kumar (28), a native of Balakulam in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu.

The accident happened at 3 am. Those who were with him immediately brought him to the Kodungallur taluk hospital but he died. After the police inquest, an autopsy was conducted at the Kodungallur Taluk Government Hospital. The body was taken home.
