THRISSUR: The mike at the press meet of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thrissur today, had malfunctioned many times. The chief minister was in a jovial mood today and started the press meet saying that this issue always occurs when he comes and then it becomes a news for you. This is not the first time the mike malfunctioned when the chief minister was speaking. This has happened before in many venues. The chief minister, who initially criticized this harshly, now takes it jokily.

When the mike malfunctioned last year while the chief minister was speaking, the police seized it and questioned the operator. This had grabbed headlines then. Police returned the mike after it stoked a controversy. Since then, it was big news if the mike develops a technical glitch at the venues of the chief minister.

The mike was kept apart due to the sun when the chief minister was talking while electioneering in Ernakulam. The chief minister then spread laughter on the stage saying 'It's news for the media, mike again'. The mike malfunctioned while speaking at the memorial service of former chief minister Oommen Chandy. Many such incidents have happened. Some on social media are jokingly saying that mike and Pinarayi Vijayan are not in good terms.
