MALAPPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday taunted Congress for being a ‘B-team’ of BJP. The CM rallied an attack against the grand old party saying that most of the heirs of former chief ministers have now joined the BJP camp. CM also ridiculed that more of the new generation congress leaders are all set to jump ship to the saffron party.

“The Congress has no ideological or practical interest in opposing the BJP, beyond the platitudes prepared by PR agencies to create news. This time in the Lok Sabha elections, Kerala will write a verdict against UDF's opportunism.” The Chief Minister in a press conference termed BJP as irrelevant in Kerala and placed big hopes of LDF tasting a resounding victory.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan:

The first phase of Lok Sabha election polling will start on Friday. The election picture has become clear in Kerala too. The contest in Kerala is between the UDF and LDF. The UDF was now wearied in opposing BJP and shockingly omitted CAA from their manifesto. The Congress has now stooped to a level that even now scares them to wave flags of their ally Muslim league in Kerala.

Let us give an example of the decline of Congress. The Bharat Jodo Yatra ended in the last week of January 2023 in Jammu and Kashmir. At that time, Adv. Deepika Singh Rajawat resigned from the Congress party. Deepika Singh Rajawat is no stranger to the people of Malappuram. She has spoken on many platforms for the UDF candidates during the 2021 elections.

Why did Deepika leave the Congress? Her resignation was in protest at the presence of former Jammu and Kashmir minister and BJP leader Chaudhary Lal Singh at the Jodo Yatra finale. Chaudhary Lal Singh was the former BJP leader who publicly supported the rapist in the murder of a minor girl in Kathua.

The Congress leadership had no ounces of conscience or dignity left that they fell into such a nadir to admit Chaudhary Lal into the party. Chaudhary Lal Singh is now contesting as a Congress candidate from Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.

Albeit ruling Himachal Pradesh, the Congress lost the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the state. Six Congress MLAs voted for the BJP. All have now joined the BJP. Along with the Lok Sabha, assembly elections are also going on in Arunachal. Congress and the BJP are the main parties there. Before the elections, the BJP won unopposed in ten seats, including the seats contested by the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.

The inflow of supporters from Congress to BJP has started in Kerala too. The BJP candidate for Malappuram constituency was the vice chancellor of Calicut University and a UDF nominee. The BJP candidate contesting in Ernakulam is also the contribution of the Congress. The BJP candidate from Pathanamthitta was the son of a former Congress chief minister and the former head of the IT cell of the Congress party. The BJP candidate in Kannur had contested as a Congress candidate in Dharmadam in the last assembly elections. The now NDA candidate in Mavelikara was the UDF candidate in Mavelikara in the last assembly election.

Amidst all this humiliation, congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi are very worried that the chief minister of Kerala is not talking much against the BJP. What kind of irony is this?

The Left does not need a Congress certificate to speak out and fight against Modi's wrong policies and the RSS. Those who have prostrated in respect before Golwalkar's photo need not give political lessons to the left party.
