Temperature to rise in these districts in coming days; IMD issues warning

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a high-temperature warning in ten districts, including Palakkad, in the state till Tuesday. According to the IMD, the maximum temperature in Palakkad district is likely to rise up to 39 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature in the districts of Ernakulam and Kasaragod is likely to rise to 36 degrees Celsius (2–3 degrees Celsius above normal) in the coming days, while the maximum temperature in Alappuzha, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Kannur is likely to rise to 37 degrees Celsius. Due to high temperatures and humid air, these districts are likely to experience hot and humid weather till Tuesday, except in the hilly areas.

Meanwhile, the IMD informed that the state is likely to receive rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning for the next three days. All districts in the state will receive rainfall. The IMD also said that isolated places in the state are likely to receive rain with thunder and lightning tomorrow and the day after.
