'Rahul should realise that when he says something, he'll get an apt reply'; CM justifies PV Anvar's controversial remark

KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has come out justifying the controversial remark made by PV Anvar MLA against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Speaking at a press conference in Kannur, the Chief Minister said that Rahul should understand that when he comes to Kerala and takes a stand favouring the BJP, he will get an apt reply for it.

"Rahul Gandhi must pay attention while speaking. He must understand that he'll get an apt reply if he says something here. He is not a personality who will not get a reply in return. During some friendly conversations, some Congress leaders had said that Rahul has changed for the good. I thought that he might have gained a lot of experience by travelling all over India. However, what he said in Kerala is not suitable for an ordinary political leader. Rahul Gandhi is nowhere to be seen when extremely serious issues come up in the country. He came to Kerala and took a stand helping the BJP. He is not a person who should be repeating the things said by the leaders in Kerala," the CM said.

Earlier, PV Anvar had sparked a controversy by making an abusive remark against Rahul Gandhi. Speaking at a campaign programme of the LDF at Edathunattukara in Palakkad, Anvar said that Rahul Gandhi should be addressed only as 'Rahul' as he has become a fourth-class citizen who does not even deserve to be addressed along with the surname 'Gandhi'.

"Rahul Gandhi has become a fourth-class citizen who does not even deserve to be addressed along with the surname 'Gandhi'. I'm not the one who said this. People across the country have been saying this for the last two days. He should be addressed simply as 'Rahul' by omitting the surname 'Gandhi'. Rahul recently asked why the central government was not putting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan behind bars. Can a person in the Nehru family say like that? I am of the opinion that Rahul's DNA should be examined. I have no doubt about that. Things have reached to such an extent that it should be doubted if Rahul is the agent of Modi," Anvar said.
