Great injustice to voters of Wayanad, Rahul should've announced his decision earlier; Annie Raja criticises Rahul Gandhi

NEW DELHI: CPI leader Annie Raja has come down heavily on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Annie Raja alleged that Rahul has done injustice to the voters of Wayanad by deciding to contest from Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh. She also said that Rahul should have announced this decision before the election in Wayanad.

"How will the INDIA alliance gain strength if one man sets out to contest in all 543 constituencies? This is an injustice to the voters of Wayanad. If there was such a plan, the Congress should have announced it before the Wayanad elections," Annie Raja said.

The Congress announced its candidates in Raebareli and Amethi this morning. Rahul Gandhi will contest in Raebareli. Uttar Pradesh Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh is the BJP candidate in the constituency. KL Sharma is the Congress candidate in Amethi. He will be contesting against Union Minister and sitting MP Smriti Irani. Polling will be held on the 20th of this month in both constituencies.
